Who is Coach Amanda?

Updated: Aug 1, 2022

Hi everyone! It just occurred to me that as you explore my page you may want to know a little more about who I am. So here goes.....

Hi my name is Amanda (she/her) I am a 30 year old certified life coach for ADHD. I am in my first year of coaching, but have 8 years of experience in Special Education as well as a lifetime of being neurodivergent myself. I was diagnosed at 28 with ADHD, but spent over a decade prior learning about ADHD because of my family members and students. I am also in a dual ADHD relationship and assist in parenting my partner's ADHD children. Just recently I learned that I am also ASD so the journey of deciphering a dual ADHD/ASD diagnosis has been enlightening! In addition to years of in-services on ADHD and executive dysfunction I have taken many classes and webinars to expand on my ADHD life coaching knowledge to best serve my clients. I am currently working on my meditation instructor cert in addition to other life coaching certifications to better help my clients. These courses help with a variety of skill sets I use to educate, advocate, and assist clients in finding ways to better manage their ADHD challenges and enhance their strengths. This is my passion: helping to educate and advocate for those who need support.

Now as far as WHO I am... that's a big question. I am a firm believer that my neurodivergence makes up a big chunk of who I am, but it isn't all I am. I am also a partner, a sister, and a daughter. I am an artist. I love anything crafty and can pick up most artistic endeavors pretty quickly! I'm a gamer, a theatre geek, and a dancer. I'm a Hufflepuff! I have special interests in rare medical disorders, Hercules, The Office, Parks and Rec, Criminal Minds and any show related to the BAU, meditation & mindfulness, psychology, animals, and so much more. I have had a boatload of hyper-fixations too that I could talk to you about for hours on end. I am also an angel-mom to 6 little ones in heaven. This is just a very small glimpse into my interests, but because of all of the ADHD rabbit holes I've fallen down I like to think I know a little about a lot. But more than any of this I am a helper. I have always LOVED helping others and have shared my story across many communities for years. I've used my story to help others in several medical circles for chronic conditions I have. I've advocated for the pregnancy loss and stillbirth community by constantly sharing about my son and his siblings across multiple social media platforms. And of course I'm an advocate for ADHD and Autism! That advocacy, that started on ADHD TikTok, is why I have gone down the coaching path. When I learned that I could help other ADHDers in this capacity I started figuring out what I needed to do to be a coach. This job has been the best career decision I have made. I am blessed every day to talk to others and help them along their journey to coping with and managing their ADHD. I really feel like I found my calling and feel so blessed to be in this position! I could go on and on about all of the above, but I'm going to keep this entry short and sweet.

If you want to know more about me, my journey, or my coaching I am just a message away!
